David Fort
Owner / Instructor / Range Safety Officer
David has a wide and varied history in public service. Starting in Civil Air Patrol (USAF Auxiliary) in 1992 as a cadet volunteer, David rose to the rank of Major while fulfilling multiple leadership roles through 20+ volunteer years. At the age of 18, David expanded his volunteer service by becoming a volunteer firefighter for a department in the suburbs of New Orleans. David moved to the Denver area in 2000 and enlisted in the Colorado Air National Guard as part of the Security Forces (military police). While David was in basic training, the tragic events of 9/11 happened. David spent the following eight years on active duty, including two deployments to the Middle East, one deployment to Central America, and a final one to the US/Mexico border. David obtained the rank of Technical Sergeant (E6) and was a Fire Team Leader and Certified Flight Sergeant. Shortly after returning from his second deployment to the Middle East, David was selected to become a Flight Training NCO. The role of the Flight Training NCO was to develop and conduct training for flight members on duty. His duties ranged from classes on security to UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) to conducting military exercises. Part of those exercises included training flight members in using force on a FATS (FireArms Training Simulator) instructor. Additionally, part of David's duties was to assist the base populace on their shooting skills and range qualifications. In 2009, David was released from active duty, returning to a traditional guardsman status, which allowed him to pursue a career in civilian law enforcement. A local law enforcement organization promptly hired him. David continues serving the public today in this role. David has received several honors and accolades throughout his time in the military and law enforcement:
